The jury of the 3rd International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Composition Competition, organized by the Silesian Philharmonic in collaboration with the ZAiKS Authors' Association, awarded 3 prizes and 3 honorable mentions. The purpose of the competition was to commemorate the figure of the Patron of the Philharmonic and to promote young composers, as well as expand the concert repertoire.
The competition called for the composition of a work for mixed choir a cappella (maximum divisi SSAATTBB) with a duration of 7 to 10 minutes.
The first prize of 12,000.00 PLN, a world premiere performance of the work during the 2024/25 season of the Silesian Philharmonic, and a professional audiovisual recording of the premiere performance was awarded to Paweł Konkol for the piece HOW DEAR TO ME THE HOUR (pseudonym: salawati).
The second prize of 8,000.00 PLN was awarded to Julia Marczuk-Macidłowska for the composition Dilectus meus mihi, et ego illi (pseudonym: Lotus348).
The third prize of 5,000.00 PLN was awarded to Dominik Radoń for the piece Earth All-mother I will sing! (pseudonym: OKMYSZ24).
