The Artur Rubinstein Łódź Philharmonic in Łódź invites you to a concert of Polish music on National Independence Day. On 11 November 2020 at 7.00 p.m. Aleksandra Świgut will perform works by Karol Szymanowski and Fryderyk Chopin.
The 28-year-old pianist has performed, among others at the "Chopin and his Europe" Festival and at the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw. She has won awards at the First International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments in Warsaw and at the International Piano Competition in Ettlingen. During her recital at the Łódź Philharmonic, the pianist will present emotional and moving works by Polish composers.
The anniversary of regaining independence is directly related to the Funeral March from Chopin's Sonata in B flat minor, which was written on the eve of the outbreak of the November Uprising. Chopin's fascination with Mickiewicz dictated him the notes of the Ballade in F major. The Scherzo in E major is the embodiment of the composer's rich and unbridled imagination. Chopin proved that he is a master of miniatures in his etudes (we will hear pieces from Op. 10) and mazurkas (Op. 30). We will also hear the impressionistic Scheherazade from the Masks, Op. 34 by Szymanowski, who drew a lot from Chopin's work.
