The "Porta Musicae" Artistic Association announced the 12th edition of the Małopolska Academy of Talents which will take place at the Center for Culture and Music Education in Łącko between June 28 and July 4. The masterclasses will be held in the following specialties: piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, and chamber music. The deadline for submitting applications is June 8, 2026. This year, the Association will award 5 scholarships based on submitted video recordings.
The masterclasses are known for their unique atmosphere and inspiring cooperation between professors and young artists, which is best demonstrated through the time of lessons and rehearsals that regularly extend beyond the scheduled timetable, the endless discussions about music, and, above all, the concerts performed together.
The Małopolska Academy of Talents is open to students and graduates of music schools, as well as students and alumni of music academies, both from Poland and abroad. Each participant is entitled to four 45-minute lessons with the professor of their choice. The organizer will provide an accompanist for the entire duration of the masterclasses.
Any resident of the Małopolska Voivodeship applying for the 12th Małopolska Academy of Talents is eligible to enter the scholarship competition. This year, the classes will be conducted by: Prof. Gajusz Kęska, PhD - Artistic Director of the Małopolska Academy of Talents (piano); Prof. Jan Kalinowski, PhD (cello); Bartłomiej Kominek, PhD (piano chamber music); Prof. Piotr Lato, PhD (clarinet); Prof. Oriana Masternak, PhD (violin); Prof. Marek Szlezer, PhD (piano); Prof. Maria Shetty, PhD (viola); Wioletta Strączek, PhD (flute); Małgorzata Wasiucionek-Potera, PhD (violin); Marek Żebrowski (piano).
The courses will include concerts by tutors and participants, to which admission is free of charge. Polish contemporary music occupies an important place in the concert repertoire. The opening concert of this year's Małopolska Academy of Talents, with the participation of the tutors, will take place on June 28 at 6.30 pm at the Center for Culture and Music Education in Łącko, the building of which was opened in 2024.
