Michał Bristiger - Polish musicologist, music critic, editor and an honorary member of the Polish Composers’ Union, died on December 16, 2016 at the age of 95.
He studied medicine in Lviv, Bologne and Warsaw, musicology at the Warsaw University, history and theory of music at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris, as well as attanded piano lessons with Guiseppe Piccioli and Jerzy Lefeld. He participated in numerous musicological conferences in Poland and abroad, and worked for the Institut für die Wissenschaften von Menschen in Vienna, Macerata-Fermo University and universities in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznań, Palermo, and Arcavacata di Rende. He was the author of several radio programmes, and essays and articles published in "Przegląd Kulturalny", "Res Facta", "Res Facta Nova" and "De musica" (internet periodical).
