MKIDN is working on a package to support artists and cultural institutions

The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage is working on a package to support cultural institutions as well as creators and artists who have suffered losses due to the cancellation of artistic and entertainment events resulting from the epidemic threat. This package will be an element of the shielding package prepared by the government for people who run various forms of business and who will suffer severe consequences due to its temporary reduction.

One of the elements of the support package is a programme for institutions that plan to expand their operations with the use of electronic communication channels and forms of presentation of artistic activities on the web.

The ministry also plans to introduce a support mechanism for the organizers of the events that could not take place due to the introduced restrictions. At the same time, the Ministry of Culture is working on developing a compensation mechanism that will be a part of the statutory support solution for entrepreneurs formulated by the Ministry of Development (https://www.biznes.gov.pl/pl/nowe-propycje-nad-ktorymi-prace-zaczelo- ministry-development-which-may-support-of-touched by the spread-Aug-coronavirus). The compensation system is also intended to include people working in the cultural sectore on specific work contracts and assignments that they cannot currently carry out.
