Monographic Concert of Katarzyna Brochocka in Gdynia & Preview of New Album

A monographic concert dedicated to composer Katarzyna Brochocka will take place at the Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Gdynia (40 Ujejskiego Street, Gdynia) on May 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Most of the works performed by Tomasz Raff (bass) and Karol Kowal (double bass) will come from the new album titled Brochocka: Unquiet Heart. The concert thus serves as a preview of the album, which will be released on June 27.

The titular “unquiet heart” represents a tension between affect and intellect—a symbol of the heart interpreted in the spirit of lectio divina, as the entire concert program is rooted in a deep reading of Sacred Scripture.

Only when the heart ceases to be proud can it find order and peace (Psalm 131).”

As part of the “Sunday Microconcert at the Franciscans” series, the program will include works by Katarzyna Brochocka such as Soliloquia for solo double bass and Psalms for bass voice and double bass.
