"Music Today" – A Hybrid Concert by Bartosz Kołsut

The Polish Society for Contemporary Music encourages the listeners to join an incredible journey into the multicolored worlds of imagination crafted by the composers of our time - namely to a chamber concert with extended audience participation held within the "Music Today" series, combining an artistic performance with improvisation workshops. On Monday, June 8, 2026, at 6.00 pm, the outstanding accordionist Bartosz Kołsut will perform at Miejsce Akcji Paca (40 Paca Street in Warsaw). Admission is free.

In the first part of the event, Bartosz Kołsut will perform and discuss works by composers such as György Ligeti, Krzysztof Penderecki, Staffan Mossenmark, and Paweł Janas.

The second part of the concert will be co-hosted by the soloist and two moderators: composer and pianist Jarosław Siwiński, and double bassist Małgorzata Kołcz. They will invite the audience to actively participate in this musical encounter — together with the moderators, participants will take part in a collective improvisation inspired by elements of the previously performed compositions.

Workshops? A lecture? A concert? Or maybe a creative play? One could also add: immersive analysis, a hybrid concert, an experimental musical dialogue. The ultimate definition remains open but one thing is certain: it will be a truly unique experience.

The event us addressed both to people who sing or play instruments (bringing the instruments along is welcome) and those who have never had any experience with music making before. Every participant willing to take active part will receive an instrument.

The concert is organized as part of the Society's project "Creative Warsaw" and is co-financed by the Capital City of Warsaw.
