Witold Lutosławski Chamber Orchestra in Łomża invites you on October 30, 2025, at 6:30 PM to a concert entirely devoted to Polish music. The soloist will be one of the most outstanding violinists of the young generation, Jakub Jakowicz, and the FKWL orchestra will be conducted by Jan Miłosz Zarzycki.
The program will feature works by Henryk Wieniawski: Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 15 and Fantaisie brillante sur Faust, Op. 20. These will be complemented by music of contemporary Polish composers for string orchestra: Variations sur un thème de Mozart by Piotr Moss, Mazurkas Nos. 1, 2, and 5 by Edward Sielicki, Small Fantasy by Miłosz Bembinow, and Music of Rain, Wind, and Love by Mikołaj Hertel.
Jakub Jakowicz has been performing since the age of 11. He has appeared as a soloist with numerous renowned orchestras in Poland, including the Warsaw Philharmonic, and internationally (Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, Brazil). From 2008 to 2014 he was the first violinist of the Lutosławski Quartet. Since 2006, he has been a member of the Zehetmair Quartet. Last year, he began collaborating with pianist Szymon Nehring and cellist Marcin Zdunik, forming a piano trio. He is a violin professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and at the Academy of Music in Katowice.
