The NFM Orchestra Academy Finale, taking place on April 30, 2026 at 7.00 pm, will bring together the young participants of the project and the musicians of the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic. The evening features works by Antoni Szałowski, Fryderyk Chopin, and Antonín Dvořák, conducted by Mirian Khukhunaishvili. Joining at the piano will be Yehuda Prokopowicz, who captured the attention of audiences and critics alike during the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition.
The concert opens with Antoni Szałowski’s Overture, the most contemporary work in the program. Written in 1936 as the culmination of the artist's studies under Nadia Boulanger, the piece is graceful, light, colorful, and witty, maintained in an accessible Neoclassical aesthetic. Following its Paris premiere, French composer and critic Florent Schmitt described Szałowski as one of the most talented creators of his generation, praising his melodic imagination and mastery of form.
The program includes also Piano Concerto in E minor by Fryderyk Chopin and Symphony No. 7 in D minor by Antonín Dvořák.
The concert is co-financed by the Society of Authors ZAiKS Creativity Promotion Fund.
Media Patronage: the 2025/2026 NFM concert season is under the media patronage of the Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.
