Oriental influences in Karol Szymanowski’s ouvre will become the main theme of another concert of the cycle "Piano Masterpieces". On February 4, 2016 Kaja Kosowska will perform his Masks in the Mazovia Culture Institute in Warsaw.
In 1914 Karol Szymanowski made a journey to North Africa, which proved very important for his artistic development as some of his later works were influenced by exotic cultures. The first part of the Masks cycle titled Scheherazade gave an impulse to present the subject, as a result of which Prof. Katarzyna Pachniak (head of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Warsaw) will give a lecture on famous collection One Thousand and One Nights.
