Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC

The International Festival of Contemporary Music ‘Poznań Music Spring’ will take place from the 24^th to 28^th of May, 2023. Over the course of five festival days, many recognized artists will perform on the stages of Poznań, presenting works by both Polish and foreign composers.

The festival events were preceded by a symphonic concert at the Poznań Philharmonic in March, featuring compositions by Katarzyna Kwiecień-Długosz, Kazimierz Serocki and Krzysztof Meyer. The May edition will consist of nine concerts showcasing various facets of chamber music. The key criterion for selecting the repertoire for this year’s edition is compositions with non-standard instrumentation.

The concerts will include premieres of compositions by Katarzyna Kwiecień-Długosz, Katarzyna Arnhold, Aleksandra Bilińska, Michał Janocha, Katarzyna Taborowska, Barbara Kaszuba, Jaromir Gajewski, Andrzej Dziadek, Tadeusz Dixa, and Artur Żuchowski. The festival programme also includes events initiated by the youngest generation of composers.

A special event will be the Atelier meeting, which this year will be dedicated to twoprominent figures, composers, and creators of the ‘Poznańs Music Spring’ who have made a lasting contribution to the cultural heritage of Poznań and the Wielkopolska region through their artistic, teaching, and popularization activities. The Atelier will be an opportunity to commemorate the memory of Tadeusz Szeligowski on the 60^th anniversary of his death and Florian Dąbrowski on the 110^th anniversary of his birth.
