2020 marked the 100th birth anniversary of Prof. Stefan Stuligrosz – a long-time teacher and Rector of the Academy of Music in Poznań, patron of the Grand Prix of Polish Choir Singing. To honour this important date, the GPPCh Foundation commissioned works inspired by Stuligrosz's music from renowned Poznań composers of the young generation. The premiere of their latest works will take place on 26 June 2021 at 6.00 p.m. in Aula Nova of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music.
We will hear pieces by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, Katarzyna Danel, Andrzej Bielerzewski, Dominik Puk, Radosław Matei, Marek Raczyński and Jacek Sykulski. These choral compositions, written for various ensembles, are also the result of collaboration between composers and conductors of Poznań choirs.
The premieres will be preceded by a performance by the "Poznań Nightingales" Boys' and Men's Choir of the Poznań Philharmonic conducted by Maciej Wieloch – the ensemble will perform works by Stefan Stuligrosz. In the second part of the concert, new compositions will be presented by: the Poznań University of Economics Chamber Choir "Musica Viva", Poznań University of Technology Choir "Volantes Soni", Poznań Boys' Choir, Sołacki Chamber Choir, Affectus Vocal Ensemble, Minimus Vocal Ensemble, as well as Chamber Choir, University Choir and Vocal Ensemble of the Pedagogues of the Academy of Music in Poznań.
The concert will be broadcast on the Grand Prix of Polish Choir Singing YouTube Channel.
