A concert of music by Prof. Lidia Zielińska and her pupils, which intiates the "Master and Students" series, will take place on May 17, 2018 at 7.00 pm at the Great Hall of the Zamek Culture Center in Poznań.
The "Master and Students" series will present works of Poznań composers associated with the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań and their students. The series aims to encourage listeners to capture the characteristic features of the latest works of Poznan composers, while emphasizing the unique Master-Student relationship.
The evening of May 17 will be devoted to one of the most-recognized Poznań composers, prof. dr hab. Lidia Zielińska and her students: dr Katarzyna Taborowska, Michał Janosz and Dominik Puk. The nearly one-hour concert will consist of four symphonic works by these artists, presenting the diversity of creative attitudes.The programme will feature two world premieres and one Polish premiere. These will be the following compositions: X3 for ensemble by Lidia Zielińska (2011) – Polish premiere, The blue oranges for extended piano and orchestra by Michał Janocha (2018), and Scratch for the orchestra by Katarzyna Taborowska-Kaszuba (2018) – the world premieres. We will also hear stultifera navis for orchestra by Dominik Puk (2017, rev. 2018).
The concert will be performed by Trans-for-Matha Ensemble, co-created by students and graduates of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, under the direction of Michał Janocha. The soloist in Michał Janocha's The blue oranges will be pianist Llorenç Prats Boscà. Dr Małgorzata Pawłowska will say a few words about presented pieces during the concert.
