New work by Piotr Matusik will have its premiere on December 16, 2016 at the Concert Hall of the Stanisław Moniuszko State Music School Complex in Bielsko-Biała.
Symphony Orchestra of the Moniuszko State Music School Complex under the baton of Andrzej Kucybała will present 20th- and 21st-century Polish music – Highlander Ballad by Zenon Kowalowski, symphonic poem Death of Ellenai by Feliks Nowowiejski (arr. by Andrzej Bukowski), Kolby by Adam Porębski (work awarded at the 12th Tadeusz Ochlewski Composition Competition in 2014) and Nemesis by Piotr Matusik - pianist, composer and a graduate of the Jazz Department of the Academy of Music in Katowice. The solo parts will be performed by violinist Bartosz Dworak and Piotr Matusik.
The concert is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage ("Composing Commissions" programme implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance).
