The concert premiering the second album of the Galician Quartet entitled Legends will be held online on 30 September 2020 at 7.00 p.m. The premiere was recorded in the picturesque Music Manor in Lipnica Wielka.
The Galician Quartet from Nowy Sącz performs contemporary music, collaborating with the viola player and composer Ewa Borcz. Concerts presenting the material from their debut album Folkomania were received with great enthusiasm in many cities all over Poland. The album was ranked 8th in the "Wirtualne Gęśle" ["Virtual Gusle"] poll organized by the Radio Folk Culture Centre. In 2019, the ensemble won the 5th Real Musicians Tournament, receiving a special award from the ZAiKS Authors' Association.
The second album of the Galician Quartet is a unique journey through the farthest corners of the Low Beskids, this time clothed in the magic of stories about characters, ghosts and places rooted in local folk culture. The album includes works by Ewa Borcz: String Quartet No. 1 "On Lesser Poland Themes", the composition Light, referring to the world's first street oil lamp constructed by Ignacy Łukasiewicz in the city of Gorlice, and two miniatures – The Beginning and The Last.
The premiere of the album will take place on the quartet's YouTube channel and its social media.
