Premiere of the newest album of the Poznań Vocal Ensemble Minimus
On 4 September 2020 the album titled Wacław Reimagined by the Poznań-based Minimus Vocal Ensemble will have its premiere. It will include contemporary choral compositions inspired by the works of Wacław z Szamotuł.
The core focus of the album is the continuous dialogue between the past and the present. It shows us how the art of ancient times intertwines with today’s world and how it affects the 21st century pieces.
Five of twelve pieces are world premieres of works commissioned by the ensemble. Their authors are Polish composers of the young generation, experienced and rewarded in numerous competitions: Paweł Łukaszewski, Aleksandra Chmielewska, Katarzyna Danel, Andrzej Bielerzewski, Marek Raczyński and Łukasz Urbaniak. Apart from contemporary compositions, the album also includes pieces by Wacław z Szamotuł which were an inspiration for the 21st century artists. Renaissance pieces have been presented with the improvised accompaniment of a lute and a Renaissance guitar.
The album has been released by Poznań-based label RecArt. As of 4 September, the record will be available in a digital form on streaming platforms and in the form of a CD in good music stores.
