The final concert of the 59th Tadeusz Baird Young Composers' Competition was held on June 14, 2018 at 6.00 pm at the Warsaw headquarters of the Polish Music Publishing House.
The Competition Jury consisting of: Marta Ptaszyńska (chairman), Ignacy Zalewski (secretary), Sławomir Kaczorowski, Leszek Lorent and Sławomir Zamuszko, after listening to the works qualified for the second stage, namely: Sonata per viola e batteria (emblem That. Rhythm.man), Fraszki durbaszki (emblem of Frapuccino), Landscape Out of Time (emblem of RIFF66TOY4JPY), From the cycle "Study in scarlet – Serpentinato" (emblem Klapancjusz) has decided as follows:
• The Main Prize – Tadeusz Baird Award – in the amount of $2,500 goes to the piece From the cycle "Study in scarlet – Serpentinato" for viola and percussion with a wandering waterphone;
• The distinction goes to Sonata per viola e batteria.
After opening the envelopes, it turned out that the authors of the awarded works are: Kamil Kruk – Serpentinato and Filip Sporniak – Sonata.
The awards ceremony will take place in September during this year's "Warsaw Autumn" festival.
