Roman Czura won the 3rd prize in the 2nd Future Symphony Composition Competition in Vilnius

The latest orchestral piece by the Silesian composer Roman Czura, Rytmy w śnie zatopione [Rhythms drowned in dreams], was awarded the 3rd prize in the final of the second edition of the Future Symphony Composition Competition in Vilnius.

The final concert with the premiere of the seven nominated works took place on 17 September 2020 at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic. The Future Symphony Orchestra was conducted by Adomas Morkūnas-Budrys. The other finalists were Charles Philip Daniels Torres (Mexico) – the winner of the 1st prize, Jievaras Jasinskis (Lithuania) – the 2nd prize, Andrius Maslekovas (Lithuania) – the 3rd prize, as well as Apor Szüts (Hungary), Daniele Testa (Italy) and Miran Tsalikian (Greece).

Roman Czura is a winner of numerous composition competitions in Poland and abroad. He specializes in chamber and orchestral music. Currently he lectures at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
