The Cracow Branch of the Polish Composers’ Union, together with the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow and the Centre for Documentation of Cracow Composers’ Works, invites you to the Scientific Conference and Concert held as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Polish Composers’ Union. The event, under the theme “The Cracow School of Composition: Memory – Perspectives – Testimonies”, will take place on 19 November 2025 at the Academy of Music in Cracow. Admission is free.
The conference will begin at 9:45 a.m. and will consist of three sessions and a discussion featuring Cracow-based composers and music scholars. Papers will be presented by, among others: Dr. Małgorzata Janicka-Słysz, Prof. Teresa Malecka, Dr. Agnieszka Draus, Dr. Renata Borowiecka, Dr. Natalia Szwab, Dr. Jerzy Stankiewicz and Prof. Marcel Chyrzyński.
At 7:00 p.m., the Cracow Branch Concert as part of the Polish Composers’ Union 100th Anniversary Festival will be repeated in Cracow: twelve entirely new compositions written especially for the Jubilee Festival will be performed by distinguished professors of the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music – Piotr Lato, Marek Szlezer, Oriana Masternak, and Jan Kalinowski.
