Beautiful Romantic Cantilena Melodies, “Songs Without Words” – Who Doesn’t Love Them…?
This is what awaits on the evening of June 6, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Silesian Philharmonic, where the outstanding violinist Jakub Jakowicz, together with the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yaroslav Shemet, will enchant the audience with the rich colors of music.
The evening's program features compositions by world-renowned Polish conductor and composer Stanisław Skrowaczewski, who served as director of the Silesian Philharmonic from 1949 to 1954, alongside passionate and energetic symphonic works by Romantic masters Johannes Brahms and Jean Sibelius.
"Music at Night" by Skrowaczewski stands out for its rich impressionistic sound palette. The composer uses a variety of techniques to evoke a mysterious nighttime atmosphere.
Jakub Jakowicz will perform Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77, and the evening will conclude with Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43.
