Sinfonia Iuventus conducted by Alexandr Iradyan

Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw, under the baton of Armenian conductor Alexander Iradyan, who has been the artistic director of the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic since 2024. The entire program will feature 20th-century music, showcasing its diverse faces, all of which are interesting and accessible even to less experienced listeners.

The concert will begin with the reflective "symphonic meditation" Les Offrandes oubliées, a work by twenty-two-year-old Olivier Messiaen, who would soon become one of the most important figures in France's musical life.

The Trumpet Concerto by Mieczysław Wajnberg, full of grotesque humor, is one of the composer's most popular works. It will be performed by Jakub Waszczeniuk, a graduate of the Wrocław Academy of Music and the principal trumpet soloist of the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra.

"The general character of the work presents – apart from the playful second movement – a gradual transition from the austerity of the first movement and the somber song of death in the third movement to the affirmation of life in the final one," wrote Béla Bartók about his Concerto for Orchestra. This piece, which has become a cornerstone of the 20th-century music repertoire, will be the perfect conclusion to the concert.

The concert is funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
