Symphony Concertante No. 5 by Aleksander Lasoń

TAOPolish National Radio Symphony Orchestra under Christopher Lyndon-Gee will premiere TAO. Symphony Concertante No. 5 by Aleksander Lasoń on November 10, 2016 in Katowice.

"Symphony No. 5 by Aleksander Lasoń (b. 1951) belongs to the group of compositions in which the composer included the reference to the spirituality of the East (Symphony No. 4 (2007), also premiered by Christopher Lyndon-Gee, bears the subtitle Satya). Music by Lasoń seeks balance of the elements which are opposite, yet complementary. A sort of remimiscence of the dynamics arising between the passive yin and the active yang. While constantly adjusting themselves, the elements initiate the process of the world, which oscillates between "emptiness", perfect harmony, tao." (Marcin Trzęsiok, source: www.nospr.org.pl)

Something mysteriously formed,
Born before heaven and earth.
In the silence and the void,
Standing alone and unchanging,
Ever present and in motion.
Perhaps it is the mother of ten thousand things.
I do not know its name. Call it Tao.
For lack of a better word, I call it great.
