Szczecin | Concert marking the 70th birthday and 50th anniversary of Piotr Moss's creative work
On 11 October 2019 at 7 p.m., the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin will host a concert to celebrate the 70th birthday and the 50th anniversary of creative work of the composer Piotr Moss.
Although his studies (with Grażyna Bacewicz, Piotr Perkowski and Nadia Boulanger) were influenced by the neoclassical trend, the composer himself is referred to as a neo-romantic. Searching for an individual style is not visible in form but in his musical expression. Piotr Moss is a versatile composer as he has written orchestral, sacral, chamber and solo pieces, but he also composed music for theatre along with wit jazz, literary and popular songs. He has won several dozen awards at composer competitions throughout Europe. He lives permanently in Paris, where in 2002 he was honoured with the Order of Arts and Letters.
During the upcoming concert, French clarinetist Jean-Marc Fessard and the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Anna Duczmal-Mróz will perform a concert for clarinet and orchestra D'un silence ... by Piotr Moss as well as the Symphony in C major by Paul Dukas.
