An opening concert of the programme entitled "The Music of Our Time" will be held on March 11, 2017 at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice.
"The Music of Our Time" is a 4-year project aimed at promoting compositions written by young composers of the 21st century. It is implemented by the Krzysztof Pemderecki Academy Association – International Music Centre, Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, 6 Academies of Music (Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Łódź, Poznań, Warszawa) and 6 Secondary Music Schools (Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Konin, Kraków, Radom, Warszawa).
Thanks to the project, contemporary music by young composers will be introduced to music schools, performed by young instrumentalists and vocalists and presented to young listeners. The schedule includes 12 concerts each year, which will be documented by the DUX recording label. During the first edition of the programme, young musicians will perform works by Michał Dobrzyński, Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, Szymon Godziemba-Trytek, Aleksandra Kaca, Kamil Kruk, Dariusz Przybylski, Mateusz Śmigasiewicz and Ignacy Zalewski.
