The Polish Music Publishing House and the Polish Composers' Union invite you to a joint celebration!

Information about the event | Warszawa | 14 November 2025

Polish Music Publishing House (PWM) has been supporting the development of Polish musical culture both domestically and internationally for eighty years. The publishing house is celebrating its anniversary throughout 2025 by organizing a series of concerts under the theme "Musical Encounters." The next installment will take place on November 14 and 15, 2025, at the Warsaw Philharmonic. This will be a double jubilee—celebrating both the 80th anniversary of PWM and the 100th anniversary of the Polish Composers' Union (ZKP). We invite you to join us in this celebration!

Throughout numerous musical and publishing activities commemorating PWM's 80th anniversary, we are accompanied by the finest Polish compositions. The official celebration began on March 7 at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, featuring the outstanding Korean violinist and laureate of the 15th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition, Bomsori Kim. The next "Musical Encounters" event will be held in Warsaw on November 14 and 15 at the Warsaw Philharmonic. The concert is co-organized by the Polish Composers' Union, which is celebrating its centenary this year.

"We are delighted to invite you to this extraordinary jubilee, where two significant anniversaries converge—the 80th anniversary of PWM and the 100th anniversary of ZKP," says Dr. Daniel Cichy, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Polish Music Publishing House. "Both institutions have been foundational to musical life in Poland for decades, supporting creators, inspiring and integrating the creative community, and educating successive generations of composers, performers, researchers, and music enthusiasts. Our collaboration is a natural extension of our shared mission—to ensure that Polish music is present, recognizable, and appreciated both within the country and beyond its borders. The slogan 'Musical Encounters' beautifully captures the essence of this jubilee: it is a dialogue of generations, a space for exchanging experiences, and a shared experience of music that unites us.

On November 14 at 7:30 PM, the program will feature Karol Szymanowski's Symphony No. 3 "Song of the Night" Op. 27—one of his greatest works, rich in subtle and refined orchestral color and fantastic sound effects. The solo part will be performed by Rafał Bartmiński, accompanied by the National Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir under the baton of Maestro Antoni Wit. The concert program will also include Witold Lutosławski's Concerto for Orchestra and Krzysztof Penderecki's The Awakening of Jacob, an instrumental depiction of the moment the Old Testament patriarch awakens from sleep. The live broadcast will be available on Program 2 of Polish Radio. The concert will be repeated on November 15.

"It is a true joy and honor for us," says Zofia Zembrzuska, Director of the Warsaw Philharmonic, "that the jubilee concert celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Polish Music Publishing House and the 100th anniversary of the Polish Composers' Union will take place here at the Warsaw Philharmonic—a place where the three elements of music converge: the creative process, the musical score, and performance, to collectively bring the greatest works to life. It is also here, at the Philharmonic, that numerous premieres of works by Polish composers have taken place, especially during the successive 68 editions of the Warsaw Autumn Festival. The program of the jubilee concert also intertwines the histories of our institutions. Witold Lutosławski's "Concerto for Orchestra" was commissioned by Witold Rowicki for the post-war revival of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra (then still the Warsaw Philharmonic). Works by Karol Szymanowski and Krzysztof Penderecki are consistently present in our repertoire and have been featured in numerous internationally acclaimed recordings, including Grammy Awards. The Polish Music Publishing House diligently preserves the legacy of our masters. We, in turn, make every effort to promote this great heritage with dignity and at the highest level worldwide."

"Musical Encounters" celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Polish Music Publishing House (November 14–15, 2025, Warsaw) are co-organized by:
