Dozens of guests from the world of cinema, exquisite films, concerts, meetings and awards – the 10th Grand Prix of Komeda. Krzysztof Komeda Film Festival was held on 22-28 August 2021 in Ostrów Wielkopolski. Last Saturday we learned the winners of awards, including the main one – Grand Prix Komeda for the best film music.
This year marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Krzysztof Trzciński Komeda, an outstanding jazzman and composer of film music, who spent his youth in Ostrów Wielkopolski. The jury of this year's competition under his name was composed of: Ewa Błaszczyk, Kinga Dębska, Radzimir Dębski "Jimek", Tomasz Lach, Paweł Mykietyn and Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz.
Grand Prix Komeda – statuette and 30000 PLN – went to Bartosz Chajdecki, the author of the music for the film Master directed by Maciej Barczewski. The jurors' verdict was traditionally presented on the last day of the festival, at the final gala on 28 August. Other distinctions were also awarded that evening at the Ostrow Cultural Centre.
The Audience Award went to two artists: director Iwona Siekierzyńska and composer Marzena Majcher. The Ostrów audiece appreciated their film Amateurs. The Grand Prix Komeda for Lifetime Achievement has been awarded at the Ostrów festival for several editions. This year it went to an outstanding composer, not only of film music, Andrzej Korzyński.
