Toruń | 6th International Copernicus Choir Festival and Competition

PMAA

Astrolabium Society of Choral Music Enthusiasts invites you to the 6th International Copernicus Choir Festival and Competition „Per musicam ad astra”. The event will be held between June 27 and July 1, 2018 in Toruń.

„Per musicam ad astra” International Copernicus Choir Festival & Competition will for the 6th time present a great opportunity for integration of the choral community and promotion of choral music. Its name refers to the figure and work of the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus who was born here. The aim of the event is also to promote the rich tourist and cultural offer of the city of Toruń and the Kujawsko-Pomorskie province.

The Festival will include performances by mixed, male, female, youth and children choirs and vocal ensembles from Hungary, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic and Poland. Over the course of 5 days participants will compete for the Grand Prix in the amount of 2000 EUR, with more than a dozen accompanying events, including Friendship Concerts in the whole region. Devoted audiences and beautiful, mostly gothic, settings make them an unforgettable experience.

An ever-important part of the event are workshops and seminars enhancing vocal capabilites of the singers and their conductors, lead by renowned voice clinicians. This year, apart from Individual Coaching (IC) and Evaluation Performance (EP) there will be workshops "Vocal technique – sound – interpretation" lead by Prof. Krzysztof Szydzisz.

Admission to all concerts is free!
