Veriko Tchumburidze - winner of the 15th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition, will perform with Sinfonia Varsovia under Aziz Shokhakimov on March 22, 2017 at the Teatr Wielki-National Opera in Warsaw.
By granting the 1st award to the representative of Turkey and Georgia, the jury of the 15th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition showed that they valued the artist’s excellent technique as much as her expression and stage personality. A concert with Sinfonia Varsovia is the Orchestra’s way of honouring the competition winner. The programme includes Overture in E major by Karol Szymanowski, Violin Concerto in D minor No. 2 by Henryk Wieniawski and Symphony No. 5 by Dmitri Schostakovich.
The soloist and the orchestra will be conducted by Aziz Shokhakimov who holds the position of the kapellmeister of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the chief conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra in Uzbekistan.
