VI International Festival "Night of Choirs"

The Silesian Association of Choirs and Orchestras invites you to participate in the VI International Festival "Night of Choirs", which is guided by the idea of "Music for All". The formula of the Festival is far from any form of competition, It will be a meeting in the spirit of unity on May 31, 2025 in Ruda Śląska. The deadline for submissions is March 17.

The main objective of the Festival is to popularize choral singing among the general public, to cultivate Silesian singing traditions and to make music accessible. Therefore, the concerts will be held in places that are familiar and friendly to residents (although sometimes unusual), and participation in the Festival will be free and open.

The organizers of the "Night of Choirs" attach great importance to the high artistic level of the performances, as they believe in the power of music presented with taste and respect. Local choirs, especially presenting folk music, will be invited to participate in the Festival, as well as other ensembles from all over Poland and abroad (about 20 ensembles) with different characteristics, presenting different musical styles. In order to realize another goal of the Festival - the inclusiveness of the music lovers' community, all performers will be asked not to perform in concert attire.

Choirs and vocal ensembles will present themselves within the following categories:

  • early music
  • classical music (between the 16th and 20th centuries)
  • contemporary music
  • folk music
  • sacred music
  • jazz - pop.

Children's choirs are a separate category.

There will be choral workshops open to the public in the Market Square. New this year will be workshops dedicated to seniors.

The festival will conclude with a joint performance of Song of the Night of Choirs by Kamil Gojowy, the Festival's organizing director.

The Main Partner of the Festival is the City of Ruda Śląska.

The internationalization of the Festival has been supported by the IGNITE project led by the European Choral Asociation.
