VII Szczecin Classic Festival: Composer's workshop

As part of the 7th Szczecin Classic Festival, a workshop for composers will be held from April 27-30, 2025, led by Maltese composer and director of the Malta Spring Festival Dr. Karl Fiorini, Dr. Ignacy Zalewski and the resident ensemble. The deadline for submitting applications and scores is February 28.

Participation is open to composers of all nationalities with no age restrictions. The works they submit must be original compositions for string quartet with a maximum length of 12 minutes.

A recruitment fee of PLN 100 (EUR 20) applies.

Each of the qualified participants, during daily individual classes, will have the opportunity to consult their own techniques and concepts. Improvement and expansion of competencies will also be provided by group workshops conducted by the Neuma Quartet, through which participants will be able to analyze their compositions also from the point of view of performance practice.

The composition workshop will conclude with an author's concert on April 30 during the Szczecin Classic Festival, where a string quartet will perform the works of qualified participants along with audio/video recording.
