"Voice Act" in Hashtag Lab

Anna Gadt will present her project "Voice Act" at Hashtag Lab in Warsaw on October 8, 2025, at 7:30 PM.

The vocal improvisations, co-created by Anna Gadt, Marta J. Bogusławska, Natalia Kordiak, and Gosia Zagajewska, tell a story emerging from four distinct female musical experiences: folk music, classical music, jazz, contemporary music, and free improvised music.

In this project, the human voice becomes an expression of individualism. It is raw and primal in its expression—without instrumental accompaniment and free from electronic processing. The performers’ voices merge, harmonize, appear and fade, coexisting and separating, experimenting and exploring nonverbal ways of expressing complex emotions.

As the artists emphasize:
"Originally, 'Voice Act' was meant to be a musical reference to the ideas of Ohad Naharin, the creator of the GaGa movement language. This language is based not so much on specific techniques as on moving according to one’s individual narrative—also in response to encounters with others."

The Hashtag Lab Contemporary Music Space is co-financed by the City of Warsaw.
