On June 22, 2018 at 7.00 pm at the Angelus Silesius State School of Higher Vocational Education in Wałbrzych there will be a concert closing the 40th artistic season of the Sudeten Philharmonic.
During the last concert of the season, one of the most outstanding Polish conductors, Maestro Jerzy Maksymiuk will not only conduct the Symphony Orchestra of the Sudeten Philharmonic, but also perform his own composition for string orchestra. Introduction, Polonez and Finale was written in 2017. The dramatic polonaise approaches rhythmically resembles bolero and, as the author himself says, fits well with concerts played on the 100th anniversary of Poland's independence.
We will also hear a rarely performed Concerto in E flat major KV 365 for two pianos with orchestra by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It was written in 1779 in Salzburg, probably for joint performances with his sister Nannerl. The artistic season of 2017/2018 will end with an extremely colorful suite from the ballet Firebird by Igor Stravinsky. This work will certainly be a fantastic culmination of a successful artistic season.
