Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
The 2nd Mokotów International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music will take place on August 13-27, 2023 at the National Sanctuary of St. Andrzej Bobola. The programme of the three concerts includes a wide range of musical literature - vocal and instrumental, from the early Baroque to contemporary music. Admission to the events is free.
This year's edition will open with a concert featuring the winner of the 48th and 50th Fryderyk Chopin Piano Compettion in Warsaw, semi-finalist of the 18th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition - Piotr Alexewicz, who will perform a selection of Chopin's Preludes Op. 28 and Waltzes Op. 64. The artistic director of the Festival, organist Sebastian Kuczyński, will present contemporary Polish organ music.
In the interpretation of Dariusz Wójcik, the director of the Open Theater in Gdańsk, we will hear not only Polish vocal lyrics, but also poems by Stefan Wyszyński and fragments of Karol Wojtyła's poem Mother.
