The fourth edition of the International Fryderyk Chopin Competition for Amateur Pianists, organised by the Fryderyk Chopin Society, will be held on September 16-21, 2018 in Warsaw. This year's ccompetition celebrates the centenary of Poland's regained independence. The honorary patron of the event is the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw.
Playing piano is a passion rather than a way of earning a living for 40 pianists from around the world who qualified to participate in the Competition. During this year's edition, apart from Fryderyk Chopin's compositions, each of the participants will have to perform one of Ignacy Jan Paderewski's works. All auditions and concerts will take place in the Mirror Room of the Staszic Palace at 72 Nowy Świat Street. Admission free!
The competition will be accompanied by concerts and meetings with participants of the Competition, which will take place every day in Nowy Świat Muzyki and RiFF Piano Salon at 10/12 Ordynacka Street from September 17 to 20 at 6.00 p.m.
