Every weekend at 4:00 p.m. Sinfonia Varsovia invites you to "Summer Concets at Grochowska Street" – a series of themed chamber music concerts. In August, they represent two streams: "Old Warsaw" and "Improvisation".
Saturday's meetings will feature music of old Warsaw – songs from the 1920s and 1930s as well as works popular among Varsovians in the first half of the twentieth century. The programme will include compositions from the repertoire of the piano duo composed of Witold Lutosławski and Andrzej Panufnik, who performed in cafes in Warsaw during the occupation. Among the performers, there will be Il Canto vocal ensemble, Camerata Vistula with cellist Anna Wróbel and Emilia Sitarz and Bartłomiej Wąsik as Lutosławski Piano Duo.
Sundays will be filled with partly improvised music, including repertoire from different eras. Theere will be medieval songs, baroque concerti grossi, music of French harpsichordists and arrangements of works by Krzysztof Penderecki. Performers of the young generation – harpsichordist Stanisław Łopuszyński and Cornu Copiae baroque orchestra with Karolina Habało – as well as recognized charismatic ensemble Atom String Quartet will perform on stage.
