Warsaw | Concert commemorating the Wola massacre

Sinfonia Viva

On August 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Warsaw's Sowiński Park Amphitheater, there will be a special concert of classical music devoted to the memory of events related to the Wola massacre.

The event is organized by the Wola Cultural Centre and will feature the Sinfonia Viva Orchestra under the direction of Tomasz Radziwonowicz. Sinfonia Viva are young, talented musicians, graduates of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, playing with passion and professionalism. Working with other artists and performing alone, the orchestra received nine nominations for the "Fryderyk" Music Awards. For the album Pasquale Anfossi: Musica Sacromontana IX (2014) they received the prestigious "Orpheus" Award from the Academie du Disque Lyrique in France. The Orchestra received the "Fryderyk" 2010 Award for the Mika Urbaniak's album Closer.

The orchestra's long-term activity is a rich and extensive artistic output in classical, jazz and film music. On August 5, the ensemble will present works by Fryderyk Chopin, Antonín Dvořák and Polish composers of the XX-XXI century: Romance from Serenade for strings, Op. 2 by Mieczysław Karłowicz, Melody by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Etude in B flat minor, Op. 4 No. 3 by Karol Szymanowski, Five Folk Melodies by Witold Lutosławski and Elegy by Tomasz Radziwonowicz.

Admission to the event is free.
