Warsaw | Kwartludium, robots, Arduino and game over

The Kwartludium ensemble will ask questions about the future of music in the age of technology during an interactive workshop and concert, which will take place on 16 December 2019 at New Theatre in Warsaw.

Contemporary composers, a musical group and individual, interactive objects which everyone can build. How to programme the process of composing music? How can the audience influence the end of a musical composition? Can a robot replace a violinist? Before the concert, at 6:30 pm, Dagna Sadkowska will conduct an interactive workshop for adults and youth from the age of 13. The violinist will also present the possibilities of Arduino.

The concert will start at 8:00 p.m., featuring Kwartludium – an excellent ensemble specializing in contemporary music performance. The programme will include will Doppelganger for 4 instruments, electric mechanisms and electronics by Rafał Ryterski, Bulb for double bass clarinet, piano, percussion, amplified violin, electronic layer with video, live electronics and lighting by Teonika Rożynek, and Deaphone for violin, piano, bass clarinet, percussion instruments and VR performance by Jan Duszyński. The composition were created as part of the "Composing Commissions" programme implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.
