A concert of the New Music College at the Concert Hall of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music will close the International Conference “Percussion and accordion in new music – sources, contexts, inspirations” on December 9, 2018 at 5.00 p.m.
The concert will present modern accordion and percussion music: the world premiere of Se-ta for two accordions and two percussions by Marta Ptaszyńska, and premieres of Ignacy Zalewski's Bad (based on a novel by Leopold Tyrmand) and Dariusz Przybylski's Even Stars Cry for accordion, percussion and string orchestra. The group of performers will include: accordionists Klaudiusz Baran and Rafał Grząka, percussionists Scotty Horey (University of Minnesota, Morris) and Leszek Lorent, and Chopin University Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Rafał Janiak.
As part of the event, the exhibition "Percussion and accordion in the history of music" by Ludmila Bubanova will be available in the Foyer of the FCUM Concert Hall.
Free admission cards available two weeks before the concert at the Chopin University Press (Monday to Wednesday and on Friday, 4.00-7.00 p.m.) and half an hour before the concert.
