Podkarpacka Foundation for the Development of Culture invites you on 4th November 2018 to the presentation of the international musical project "Suite of the European Nations" within the 10th Wawer Music Festival, which will take place at the BOSS Conference and Training Center in Warsaw at 5.30 pm.
The concert will feature the world premiere of the "Suite of the European nations", consisted of eights parts written by eight different composers. The universal, multi-layered work is inspired by folk (dance) music of Belarus, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary. Each of the parts will reflect the musical tradition of the country from which the author comes from. The first part was composed by a member of the Polish Composers' Union, a lecturer at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Marcin Kopczyński. The programme will also include: Marcin Kopczyński's Capriccio polacco, Eliska Cilkova's Part of Suite, Gyula Fekete's Csardas, Vojtech Didi's Musica rurale !, Victor Vojcik's Polka rustica, Jonas Jurkunas' For birbynes, Miroslav Skoryk's Pride and Carpathian dance, Kirill Volkov's Eccosaises.
The work was created as part of the "Collections" programme – "Composing Commisions" priority, implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.
