On 13-14 July 2019 at 4.00 pm the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra invites you to the next "Summer Concerts at Grochowska Street". The audience will listen to Spanish, Brazilian and Argentinian music as well as works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Niccolo Paganini.
The cycle of afternoon chamber music concerts returns to the home of Sinfonia Varsovia. Just like last year, each Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 p.m. features performances by well-known artists and rising stars on the classical music scene. There will be 30 concerts arranged by common themes: Not just for Orchestra, Japan, Moniuszko, Relax, Travelling, Improvisation, Old Warsaw. The music will be performed by traditional ensembles and some rare configurations, including a reed trio with saxophone and bass clarinet, a cello octet and a flute quartet. The works performed will feature music of many periods and genres – from the Baroque to opera arias, jazz and contemporary and improvised music.
Woch & Guzik Guitar Duo – laureates of the International Music Competition IBLA Grand Prize 2013 – and a multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer Piotr Kopietz who plays Argentinian bandoneon and rare French accordion, will take part in the concert on 13 July. The artists will present compositions by Marc Pereira, Joaquin Rodrigo, Astor Piazzolla, Manuel de Falla and Tomas Gubitsch. On 14 July, the Polish Flute Quartet – composed of musicians who play all the instruments in this family: from piccolo, through alto to the bass flute – will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Eugène Gigout, Eugène Bozzy, Saveria Mercadante, Niccolo Paganini and Stanisław Moniuszko.
