The concert ‘Varsovians sing (un) forbidden songs’ returns to the Warsaw Józef Piłsudski Square after almost two years of absence - on the 1st of August, 2022 at 20.30. During this unique musical event, we will once again be able to sing patriotic songs together in the center of the capital, for which the insurgents fought 78 years ago.
The concert with the orchestra and directed by Jan Stokłosa will be led by Tomasz Wolny. During the evening we will hear (and sing!) such songs as Warszawianka, Marsz Mokotowa, Paramedic Małgorzatka, Pałacyk Michla or Little Girl from the Home Army.
The songbook with the lyrics will be available for download from the website 1944.pl a few days before the event. It contains insurgent repertoire, including songs by Polish composers and cultural activists: Karol Kurpiński, Andrzej Panufnik, Jan Ekier, Jerzy Dargiel, Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński, Michał Zieliński and Jan Markowski.
Admission free!
The event will be broadcast in TVP1 and at https://www.facebook.com/1944pl
