The Warsaw University Library will host a meeting to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the death of Wojciech Łukaszewski. The event will take place on 13 April 2018 at 4.00 p.m. and will be accompanied by a presentation of composer's works.
13 April 2018 will mark the 40th anniversary of Wojciech Łukaszewski's death – a sensitive and open-minded composer, a dedicated pedagogue, an artist who was involved in promoting music culture in many ways. Although he died at an early age, he left many valuable and beautiful works. Thanks to the generous gift from his family, the composer's legacy rests for 10 years in the Polish Composers' Archive, as part of the collections of the University of Warsaw Library.
The anniversary evening will be an opportunity to bring back memories about the composer, listen to his works (performed by soprano Anna Mikołaczyk-Wałędzial and Marcin Tadeusz Łukaszewski on piano and flute) and present his selected manuscripts. The programme of the event also includes a lecture by the composer's son, dr hab. Marcin Tadeusz Łukaszewski, prof. UFMC: Wojciech Łukaszewski - the history of a short life and creative heritage.
Admission to the event is free.
