We Know the Laureates of the Coryphaeus of Polish Music Award 2025

For the 15th time, the Coryphaeus of Polish Music awards were presented in four categories: Personality of the Year, Event of the Year, Discovery of the Year, and Honorary Award. The jubilee gala took place at the Warsaw Philharmonic on November 3, 2025.

The Honorary Award for lifetime achievement was presented to Waldemar Dąbrowski – long-time Director of the Grand Theatre – National Opera, cultural animator, politician, and manager.

The Personality of the Year award went to Anna Szostak – for her consistent vision of developing the Katowice City Singers’ Ensemble “Camerata Silesia”, which has maintained an active concert and recording schedule recognized with numerous awards in the past season. The award also honors her steadfast promotion of contemporary Polish repertoire alongside historically informed performances of early music.

The Event of the Year was “Musical Encounters on the 80th Anniversary of PWM Edition at the National Forum of Music”. This two-day celebration of Polish music in Wrocław gathered a large audience and over 500 performers during 34 concerts, workshops, and meetings. The rich jubilee program of PWM showcased the multifaceted achievements of composers associated with the publishing house – from 20th-century classics to the most recent music.

The Discovery of the Year award, granted by the Electors’ College with the support of an open online public vote, went to pianist Mateusz Dubiel – for his victory in the National Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, paving the way to the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition, and for his active concert career in Poland and abroad, confirming his growing stature among young pianists.

The winners received statuettes designed by Prof. Adam Myjak, whose work is now continued by his son, Aleksander Myjak.

The artistic program of the evening featured performances by the vocal ensemble Młode Stare Baby, violinist Agata Szymczewska and OH! Orkiestra under Martyna Pastuszka, as well as Iwona Hossa, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Grzegorz Turnau, pianist Marcin Wasilewski, the Adam Sztaba Orchestra, and the Chopin University Chamber Orchestra conducted by Adam Sztaba.

The event is organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance with funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The Authors’ Association ZAiKS is the event’s partner.
