Winners of 12th International Competition for Young Pianists "Artur Rubinstein in memoriam" Announced!

The jury of the 12th International Competition for Young Pianists "Artur Rubinstein in memoriam" in Bydgoszcz, after two stages of auditions and final concerts with the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra at the Pomeranian Philharmonic, announced its verdict.

The first prize went to Mateusz Krzyżowski (Poland) – PLN 30,000, financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The winner of the 2nd prize was Vladimir Acimovic (Serbia) – PLN 15,000, financed by the Centre for Artistic Education in Warsaw. The third prize – PLN 9,000, financed by the Bydgoszcz City Hall– went to Hyo Lee (Korea). Financial prizes were awarded to all finalists: 4th prize – PLN 8,000, financed by the Senator of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Kobiak – went to Yonghuan Zhong (China); 5th prize – 6,000 PLN, financed by the Marshal's Office of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship in Toruń – went to Krzysztof Wierciński (Poland); 6th prize – PLN 4,000, financed by Marlena and Waldemar Latoń, owners of Polimex-Profil in Solec Kujawski – went to Mateusz Dubiel (Poland).

The international jury chaired by Ewa Osińska included famous concert pianists: Beata Bilińska, Valentina Igoshina and Ian Hobson. The jury auditioned 29 pianists from 12 countries around the world.
