Winners of the 7th International Composition Competition "Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta"

SCWe know the results of the 7th International Composers Competition "Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta". The subject of the Competition was to compose a piece Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta for string orchestra and theremin obbligato. This year, the Jury decided not to award the 1st prize.

The Jury of the Competition consited of: Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa – chairwoman, Eugeniusz Knapik, Marcel Chyrzyński and Jurek Dybał.

The second prize was awarded to Nikodem Kluczyński (Poland) for the piece Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta. Bridge over the Styx for theremin and string orchestra.

The third prize was awarded to Robin Lilja (Sweden) for the piece Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta for theremin and string orchestra.

The Jury has also decided to award an honourable mention to Michael Mishchenkov (Belarus) for the piece Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta. Echo for theremin and string orchestra.

The composition of the second prize laureate, Nikodem Kluczyński, will receive its premiere on 4 July 2021 during the 7th Sinfonietta Festival’s concert Density. Physical phenomenon of sound (The Gallery of the 19th Century Polish Art in Sukiennice ‒ MNK branch, 7.00 p.m.) and will be accompanied by the ceremony of awarding the diplomas to both the laureates and the recipient of the honourable mention.
