On October 1, 2016, names of the Coryphaeus of Polish Music Award winners were announced at a special gala held at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw.
The awards were granted in 4 categories:
• Karol Mossakowski - Debut of the Year;
• Agata Zubel - Personality of the Year;
• Opening of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław - Event of the Year;
• Jan "Ptaszyn" Wróblewski - Honorary Award.
The winners received commemorative statuettes designed by Prof. Adam Myjak, while the financial rewards (Personality of the Year Award and Honorary Award) were funded by ZAiKS Authors’ Association (Polish Society of Authors and Composers) and by STOART Union of Performing Artists.
The gala concert was performed by singer Aga Zaryan, Nikola Kołodziejczyk Orchestra, saxophonist Łukasz Dyczko, pianist Jakub Sikora and Royal String Quartet. The programme included compositions by Jan Krenz, Jan "Ptaszyn" Wróblewski and Nikola Kołodziejczyk.
