Winners of the "On the Right Bank of the Vistula…” Composition Competition

On October 28, 2025, the results of the 1st “On the Right Bank of the Vistula…” Composition Competition were announced in Czechowice-Dziedzice. The aim of the Competition is to support young composers and to promote contemporary accordion music. This year’s edition featured stylistically diverse works, from which the Jury selected three main prize winners.

The Jury of the Competition consisted of:
Prof. Stanisław Krupowicz – Chair, Prof. Marcin Bortnowski, Grażyna Krzanowska – Artistic Director of the Alkagran Autumn Music Festival, Dr. Eneasz Kubit, Jagna Krzanowska – Director of the Competition, Piotr Zembroń – Secretary.

The Jury awarded the following prizes:

  • 1st Prize – PLN 5,000 and special awards from the “Warsaw Autumn” International Festival of Contemporary Music, the National Forum of Music, PWM Edition, and the Armonia dell’Arte Foundation – Franciszek Jackowski.
  • 2nd Prize – PLN 3,500 and special awards from the “Warsaw Autumn” International Festival of Contemporary Music, PWM Edition, and the Armonia dell’Arte Foundation – Dawid Grenda.
  • 3rd Prize – PLN 1,500 and special awards from theWarsaw Autumn” International Festival of Contemporary Music, PWM Edition, and the Armonia dell’Arte Foundation – Matteo Gurrieri.

The organizers express their sincere gratitude to all participants for their submitted works and congratulate the laureates on their outstanding compositions. Special thanks are also extended to the Jury for their thorough and professional evaluation of the entries.

All awarded compositions will be performed during the 28th Alkagran Autumn Music Festival in 2026.
