As part of the National Institute of Music and Dance’s project “With Classics Across Poland”, soprano Aldona Bartnik and pianist Naruhiko Kawaguchi – winner of the second prize at the 1st International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments – will perform songs by 19th- and 20th-century Polish composers in the Lower Silesia region from April 24–26, 2025.
The concerts will take place at the “Dulowa Chata” wedding and banquet hall in Bielawa, the Castle on the Rock in Trzebieszowice, and the auditorium of the Municipal Cultural Centre in Szczytna.
The program will include songs composed by Fryderyk Chopin to the words of Stefan Witwicki, Bohdan Zaleski, and Adam Mickiewicz, as well as songs by Stanisław Niewiadomski.
Though the focus will be on vocal lyricism, the performers will also present purely piano works by Chopin and Niewiadomski, as well as pieces by Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Julian Fontana.
