"With Classics Through Poland": Ãtma Quartet

On 20-22 March 2025, as part of the National Institute of Music and Dance's project 'With Classics Through Poland', the Ãtma Quartet will perform in the Lubuskie Voivodeship: in the Wiechlice Palace, the Nowosolski Cultural Centre and the Nowogród Bobrzański Municipal Cultural, Sports and Recreation Centre.

The word Ãtma in Sanskrit and Hindu philosophy means soul, self, psyche. The ensemble's name also refers to Villa Ãtma of Karol Szymanowski, whose works are an important item in the quartet's repertoire.

Aleksandra Kupczyk, Michał Szałach, Karalina Orsik and Andrzej Bauer will thus present Polish music: Karol Szymanowski's String Quartet No. 2, Stanisław Moniuszko's String Quartet No. 1, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki's String Quartet "Quasi una fantasia", as well as quartets by Béla Bartók, Johannes Brahms, Ludwig van Beethoven, Joseph Haydn and Franz Schubert's Quartetsatz in C minor.

"With Classics Through Poland" is a project of the National Institute of Music and Dance co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
