World Premiere: Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska’s "Metamorphosis" in Zielona Góra

The concert on May 8, 2026 at 7.00 pm at the Tadeusz Baird Zielona Góra Philharmonic will open with the world premiere of Metamorphosis by contemporary Polish composer Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska. The piece was commissioned specifically for the Zielona Góra Symphony Orchestra, which will perform under the baton of Radosław Droń.

This evening’s "musical kaleidoscope" will feature three distinct musical worlds: new sounds will meet Romantic music and the freedom of jazz.

Following the world premiere, the audience will be taken to the melodic world of French Romanticism with César Franck’s famous Symphony in D minor. Then, the traditionally lyrical cello will engage in a pulsating, syncopated dialogue with the ensemble, blurring the lines between classical music and jazz. The solo part in Friedrich Gulda’s Concerto for Cello and Big Band will be performed by the outstanding Yibai Chen.

The media patronage over the 2025/2026 concert season of the Zielona Góra Philharmonic is held by the Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.
